ARTICLE VII, NOMINATION & ELECTION OF OFFICERS

 

Section 1. Legionnaires of Post 81, in good standing, shall elect Officers, Trustees, and executive Board Members, except for Adjutant. Only Legionnaires of Post 81, who are current members in good standing, are eligible to serve as an Officer, Trustee, or Executive Committee Member of this Post.

 

Section 2. In March, the Commander and Executive Committee shall appoint special  

 Committee, which shall be known as the Election Committee                                                                   

a.     This should be made up of two (2) members of the Post general membership, one (1) person from the Auxiliary, one (1) person from the Riders Group, and one (1) from the Sons of American Legion, but not to include persons holding current official positions within the post. The exception to this will be the designated chair of this committee, who can be one of the vice officers (first or second) who will oversee the distribution, collection, and counting of the ballots on the floor at the General Membership Meeting.
